From an upper story of the new Omaha High School on Capitol Hill, photographer Edric Eaton made this southward survey of the expanding city. The prospect extends over the school's own orchard toward a middle ground of scattered frame houses and the distant rooflines of the commercial district. When paired with Eaton's ground-level views of the building itself, this stereoview provides the reverse perspective: the city as it appeared from the school’s windows during a period of rapid, but still incomplete, development.
