Photographer Herman Heyn ascended the Omaha High School tower to capture this panorama looking northeast toward the frozen Missouri River. The stereoview is specifically numbered as the second in his ambitious series, City of Omaha and Vicinity. It is also part of a ten-view sub-series taken from this single vantage, illustrating a systematic visual survey of the burgeoning city during its Gilded Age expansion.
