Pencil “375” at upper right of verso (later collector/dealer inventory).
The original Union Pacific Railroad headquarters in Omaha stands at the corner of Ninth and Farnam streets in this stereoview by local photographer Herman Heyn. Number 37 in a series dedicated to the city and its vicinity, the albumen prints offer a finely detailed vantage of the Second Empire edifice, with tracks running directly along its Ninth Street facade. The building was demolished c. 1916, rendering this three dimensional document a valuable record of a lost civic landmark and the railroad's foundational presence in the city.
