Jackson Brothers studio, Omaha, Nebraska

The Jackson Brothers’ studio documented a rapidly growing Omaha, here looking north up Thirteenth Street from an elevated vantage on Farnham. A prominent billboard for a railroad ticket agency speaks to the street's function as the main thoroughfare connecting the new Union Pacific depot with the city's hotel district. This composition, plate number twenty, belongs to the photographers' earliest published series of Omaha views, distinguished by their arched print format.
