Jackson Bros., Omaha, Neb.

An architectural study by Jackson Bros. documents Omaha’s newly built Metropolitan Hotel. The building gained local notoriety shortly after opening, however, becoming the scene of a grim and widely reported shooting involving a father and his daughter's assailant. This violent history lies just beneath the surface of the otherwise orderly street scene, a testament to the turbulent character of the post-Civil War frontier city.
