The title of this real photo postcard, produced by circuit photographer C. E. Yocam, presents an intentional irony. A low sidewalk vantage exaggerates the modest two story commercial block of DeWitt, Nebraska, lending its projecting signs and bracketed awnings the scale of a much larger city. As residents pass along the plank walk, the scene captures both the architectural vocabulary of a prairie main street and the self aware humor of its inhabitants.
