This stereoview by Solomon D. Butcher & Son revisits the rapids above the Upper Falls, here captured from an elevated position looking downstream over the entire channel. The composition is deliberately layered in receding planes of rock and pine, a structure designed to generate a pronounced sense of depth when viewed through the stereoscope.
